Hello friends and colleagues,

I'm an artist and animator, currently completing my final years of my undergrad as a mature student. I am in desperate need of a new computer to complete my studies (thesis, animated short film), as well as current and future projects/contracts for financial security. My current computer has been upgraded with parts here and there over the years (I'm a resourceful and frugal guy when I can) but it is in need of a new processor, graphic card, and ssd. My computer continues to crash because it can't withstand the software I need to do my work. It makes more sense for me to buy a brand new laptop.

For context - These last two years I have struggled with major physical and mental health challenges that have impacted my ability to work. This past summer I succumbed to the reality my body was shutting down and so I took medical leave (without pay) for the first time in my life - as I have provided for myself financially since I was 16 years old working in the service industry. This summer I was losing my eye sight, couldn't walk, experiencing intense physical pain, inflammation, and immobility. I used my savings to pay for two months of my necessities (rent, food) and transportation to all of my doctors appointments. Unfortunately I still don't have answers or a diagnosis and the symptoms are ongoing. I unfortunately also don't have other financial support or resources.

I am asking for your help. Which is difficult to do. Very difficult. I believe that I have reached this point because I have not asked for help sooner (years sooner), but I know what I need to do going forward so that I can gain back my security and pay it forward.

I know that everyone is struggling right now, in many immeasurable ways. Any small amount helps. I am grateful for my community that has supported me this far.
