I am Firdaus Farid.
I am a single mother of three kids; who is trying to get a divorce. My children are 2, 5, & 11 years old.
I need your help in supporting me financially to cover the motel expenses until I find a shelter that would have a room for us as a family, or find a job to sustain myself & my family, in-shaa' Allah.
The father of my children sends a monthly payment of $500, and there is a muslim brother who sends another monthly payment of $200; may Allah reward them both, ameen
The total of $700 cover the life expenses of a family of four people such as clothes & shoes, diapers, wet wipes, tissues, toilet paper, laundry soap, shampoos & body soap, school supplies, & over the counter medicine such as ointments & bandaids, and tylenol.
For food & medical expenses, I applied to get help from DHS, the Department of Human Service, and I got lots of food stamps and full medical care for the children. As for myself, I also got their medical help except the dental which is acceptable, Alhamdolillah.
Currently, I am looking for a job to be able to sustain myself & my children especially in covering the rent. I work extreme part time for the motel at 3 dollars a room when they have heavy occupancy. Its not helping to much more then to try and teach my daughter how to babysit.
Renting an apartment is not an option for me now due to not having a job that will raise my monthly income up enough for a place to live. ... I tried to use the amount of money that I get from the father of my children & the muslim brother but the application was rejected because it did not meet their criteria; the income needs to be more than $700.
I have applied for a homeless shelter service, but the one next to me is full at the moment; I am still in the process of searching to find one that has a place for us; we ask Allah to grant us what is best for us, ameen
As a result, my only option was to rent a motel until one of the shelters accept us, in-shaa' Allah.
Currently, the motel that I am staying in charges $250 per week; It is one of the cheapest motel in the area where I live with a decent condition.
Through the help of some sisters, I got covered for this month ... For me to continue living in this motel & not end up on the street, I need your help for the next of few months until I find a job, in-shaa' Allah.
