Lola is an 8 month old rescue kitten. She is still growing, and while small for her age, she has lived a playful and robust life thus far. Unfortunately, as with many cases, her excellent health didn't prevent a sudden medical emergency from interrupting her childhood. Now, she is fighting for her life and she needs your help.
After an episode of vomiting followed by lethargy and a lack of appetite, Lola's family took her to the vet where they performed X-rays which identified a foreign object in her digestive tract. At the time, her bladder was nearly bursting and she was extremely backed up because the pain was too intense for her to use the litter box.
After administering pain killers, veterinary staff performed a second X-ray that determined the object had become stuck in her small intestine and she would not be able to pass it on her own. This means the object must be removed surgically, which puts medical costs at an estimated $5,000-9,000.
Despite the high financial cost and the risks associated with her size and age, her family is willing to do whatever it takes. The surgery will save her life and allow her to grow into adulthood. Her life is specious to so many, including friends of the family who often visit her, and her fellow feline, Posey, who has adopted her as his own.
Please give what you can. Any amount is appreciated. For donations of $1000 or more I am offering to paint commissioned portraits of animal companions which I will ship to the donor. An example of my work is below.
Thank you!
