Chris’s Road to Recovery
Donation protected
Hi, my name is Chris Vargas, and I’m a father, husband, and content creator based in Southern California.
After a long weekend in Boston—networking, creating content, and spending time with friends—I came home feeling extremely unwell. I was unusually winded, lightheaded, and had a rapid heart rate even while doing the simplest tasks around the house. It didn’t feel like normal exhaustion.
After hours of no improvement, I checked myself into the hospital—and I’ve been here ever since.
Doctors diagnosed me with fluid buildup in my lungs, which made it difficult for my body to get the oxygen it needed. Because of that, my heart and other organs were working overtime to compensate. After running additional tests, they also found that I had experienced a mild heart attack—likely without realizing it at the time.
I’m thankful I went in when I did. I’m now under excellent care, and while I’m not feeling 100% yet, I’m improving every day.
That said, this hospital stay comes with a lot of unexpected costs. On top of that, my wife will need to take at least a week off work to care for our two young children while I recover. We’re doing our best to manage everything, but we could really use some help.
If you’re willing and able to support us—whether with a donation or by sharing this page—it would mean the world to our family. Every bit truly helps.
Thank you for reading, and thank you for caring.
