In January 2022, Wendi McAnally was diagnosed with Ovarian Cancer.
She had been having back and lower abdominal pain for a few weeks and thought it was just a UTI. After trying to heal it at home, she went to see her GP, who dismissed her symptoms and said her urine looked good and they would schedule an ultrasound a few weeks out.
A few days passed and the pain had increased, and she found herself in the local ER. Doctors ran multiple tests, including blood work, an ultrasound, and even a CT with contrast, which found the masses on her ovaries, that were pressing against her ureters (which are the tubes running from your kidneys to your bladder). It also showed swollen lymph nodes along her spine. The urologist said she would need a stent put in to help her kidneys drain, which happened three days later.
This is where her cancer journey started.
The doctors in Wenatchee, where Wendi lives, referred her to Swedish Cancer Hospital, near Seattle, about 2.5 hours away. The doctor at Swedish said he can work with the clinic in Wenatchee, so she can get her treatment done there, which was a relief.
The treatment plan is for 3 rounds of chemo. She will get 1 round of chemo every 3 weeks for a total of 9 weeks. After this process, they will see if the masses have shrunk. If they did, then they will do surgery to remove the masses and her ovaries. Wendi did her first round of chemo last Friday 03/11 and everything went well, but she has been very tired, nauseous, and weak since then.
This has been hard on all of us but has been especially hard on our youngest brother Niko, who is Non-Verbal Autistic. He doesn't understand why his momma can't help him anymore. We are all doing what we can to help keep Niko on a schedule, and his needs met. This is so important to our mom because he is the light of her life, and she worries about him.
I started this page because her medical bills ($11,000) are piling up, and the family can use all the help they can get with gas, food, supplements, medications, and any other item she needs during this journey. I cannot link her doctor's office, so if you would like to help with her medical bill, you can contact me, and I can help you with that information.
We have faith in God that He will heal our mom and want to thank you for any help you can give.
