#AJSTRONG

My day started as normal as any other day. Got up and got myself and my daugther ready to head to work and daycare. On the way to drop my daughter off to my mom I got the call that my sister was being picked up by an ambulance as she was in labour and was unable to stand and even make it to her vehicle! I dropped my daughter off and pulled into the hospital at 7:48AM and by 8:01AM I was watching my strong amazing sister giving birth to my amazing handsome little newphew! When he came out though there was quite a surprise for us all, including the medical staff. AJ was born with Spina Bifida :( This was not expected and of huge concern. he was taken right to NICU as he wasn't breathing very well and not moving. I had to stay strong for my sister and her husband and I can promise you it was one of the hardest things I have had to do. AJ was transported to Sick kids within 12 hours and within 10 hours of that he was under going a 3 hour surger to enclose his spine. AJ is a fighter and he has done well. Daily my sister and brother-in-law take care of their daughter at home and go to the hospital to take care of their sick son. Neither work right now to take care of their family. AJ was recently transffered back to the NICU at sick kids due to a blood infection. That will hopefully go away soon and he can go back to constant care. They have also removed what fluid they can from his brain and his spine. Through all of this they are staying strong for their family but financially things are taking a toll and I don't want to see them fall apart over that. They need to stay strong for their children & pray that AJ will make it home for Christmas! I am asking for any help that anyone can provide for meals, gas, bills and parking money. This all adds up,  I appreciate all your help especially around this time of year.
