Summer Engineering Program

Hi! I'm Gracie Mowery, I'm a Junior in high school and was recently accepted into the program of my dreams- a three week Sustainable Engineering immersion program at Cornell University in New York. This program costs $6,000 in total, and I financed almost half of it so far; but, the impending deadline on April 30th is approaching and without the funding I cannot attend.

If I were able to attend, my session at Cornell would build a foundation for my dream of becoming an engineer. It focuses on teaching not just the fundamentals of mechanics and city planning, but also the difference sustainable engineering can make. Alongside this, it is a personal goal of mine to pursue an engineering career especially as a woman because it is a primarily male dominated field.

Sustainable engineering to me is about creating a balance between the innovations of the future and the natural landscape we must preserve. The reason I am so passionate about this is based on the love I have developed for sustainability and infrastructure after focusing on community service for five years. I saw how the quality of life revolves around the efficiency of city infrastructure and planning, and the importance of making this system safe for the environment.

My dream to become an engineer begins here. With your help and contribution, I am confident that this dream will come true. Thank you so much for your consideration and support.
