Two years ago, I visited to one of the many personal shelters in Beijing China. This little shelter is called "812 忠犬救助之家“, meaning "812 Faithful Dog Rescue Home". I have met the compassionate founder, Du Te [独特] meaning Unique. On 8/12, this young man saved over 200 dogs from a truck bond to the slaughter house. Since then, he has been raising these dogs along with his partners, couple of workers, and volunteers. These dogs are not trained, nor socialized, but one thing they all have in common that is, they are starving for human affection. Since these dogs are deemed "ugly" (not pure bred) by many of the Chinese, these dogs will never be adopted or find a loving home. They will live in the shelter for the rest of their lives. Du Te and his fellow animal activists are trying their best to raise these dogs even with the limited funding and human effort to maintain these dogs. These Chinese activities work during the day, take care of the dogs on the side, when the night falls, they hit the street to catch the cats feed them and get the strays fixed to control ever growing cat population. Continue to rescue all the abused, abandoned dogs. At this point, the shelter is capped out, there are more and more strays in China due to lack of control and effort from the city official and government.

Du Te will pass through LA for few days, I would like to have a surprise meet and greet with him in LA and also able to donate some money (any amount count) to his Sanctuary to care for the dogs and his continue his effort to catch and release city's stray cats night after night.
