Hi, my name is Ece Iskit.

I came to Canada with one goal: to build a scientific career that contributes to sustainable, evidence-based solutions in health and environmental sciences.

I hold a Master’s degree in Biochemistry and recently completed a semester in a graduate-level environmental research program in Ontario. That semester represented months of intense dedication and personal sacrifice, and I was proud to finish it with strong academic performance.

But today, my student account is on hold.

To protect the academic term I have already completed and earned, I must pay $8,100 CAD by March 12.

If I cannot resolve this balance, my account may be sent to collections — putting my academic record and financial future at serious risk.

As an international student, I do not qualify for Canadian government student aid. At the same time, unexpected family health challenges and delays in my work authorization significantly limited my ability to earn income over the past months.

I am building my life independently. I do not have financial backing to rely on. Education is not just a goal for me — it is the foundation of my stability, my independence, and my future career in science.

This campaign is not about funding a future semester.

It is about protecting the work I have already completed.
