80-Year-Old on Fixed Income needs a Well to Stay in Home!

Help Me Restore Running Water to My Home

Hello, my name is Josephine Burnett, and I am reaching out to my community for help. I am 80 years old and have been living without running water for the past 14 months. My well dried up, and since then, I have had to rely on buying water from the grocery store, asking my neighbors for help, and carrying heavy jugs from the water treatment facility—sometimes as many as 25 jugs at a time—just to have the basic water I need to drink, cook, and bathe.

I am on a fixed income, and the cost of installing a new well is more than I can afford. I love my home, and I have nowhere else to go, but without water, it has become a daily struggle just to get by. I never imagined I would be in this situation, but I am reaching out in hopes that my community can come together and help me raise the $12,000 needed to restore my water supply.

Having running water again would change my life. It would mean I no longer have to strain myself carrying heavy jugs, worry about where my next bucket of water will come from, or consider leaving the home I love.
