WHAT IS 809 PLATFORM?
809 is an interdisciplinary platform dedicated to cultivating connection, initiating collaboration and expanding the network of emerging creatives.
Through our core projects – 809 Event and 809 Session – we bring together musicians, DJs, selectors, dancers, producers, actors, scenographers, curators, designers, technicians, photographers, videographers, film and fine artists facilitating multidisciplinary collaborations that extend far beyond the event itself. In one and a half years, we have hosted four major events and 20+sessions, through which we have worked with over 200 artists, igniting long-term artistic partnerships, career opportunities and friendships.
WHY SUPPORT 809?
We have grown into a thriving creative community, where emerging artists come together to build something truly powerful. However, we are facing a crucial moment. Our platform has the momentum, the artists, and a clear vision, but we lack the financial resources to sustain and expand our impact into a self-sufficient future. We are deeply grateful to the Amsterdam Academy of Theatre and Dance for their invaluable support, but even with their backing, our current resources fall short. Without additional funding, we risk limiting the very opportunities we have worked so hard to create.
HOW WILL YOU MAKE A DIFFERENCE? YOU CAN:
- Help provide financial compensation for 15+ more artists to join the upcoming production of 809 Volume 5.
- Enable the launch of new projects that will expand our platform’s reach and provide emerging artists with new spaces to develop and showcase their work.
- Cover the administrative costs of officially transitioning 809 from a student organization to an independent platform.
- Support the 809 Team in fully dedicating our time and efforts to building the platform, ensuring a strong foundation for its long-term sustainability.
WHAT DO WE OFFER IN RETURN?
