Update as of 7/10: Due to the recent ICE Raid at Glasshouse Farms, our fundraising efforts have now shifted to emergency status. So many families have been split apart, community members have been arrested, deported, while their families are left behind. Some children are now orphaned. Some parents have become single parents overnight. The economic impact is enormous and our communities have a huge need for food and basic necessities, especially families with children. Right now, we are doing our best to provide food, toiletries, diapers, formula, wipes and deliver food to their homes for the sake of their safety.

As an indigenous person, community member, and human rights advocate, I am appalled by the actions taken against our migrant communities.
The city of Oxnard is a culturally vibrant community that currently lies asleep. Our hardworking farm laborers are hiding, in fear of being torn away from their families. Our people are targeted each day, terrorized, and unjustly deported. We cannot just sit back and let it happen. Those of us who sit in a place of privilege are standing up for the very people who harvest the food that sit on our tables!
This is why it’s now our turn to show up for THEM! To feed THEM. To help the people who keep this economy afloat. They are the mechanism that motors this country!! They shouldn’t be afraid to leave their homes, or go to stores for basic necessities!
Our gente needs us to show up! Please join me so we can help our 805 migrant communities with: rent, bills, and basic needs until it is safe for them to return to work. It’s the least we can do for people whose efforts carry the agricultural weight of our country.
“El Pueblo Unido, Jamás Será Vencido!”
Thank you!
