Hi my name is Bob. Along with my seasonal companion Juan Carlos we assist his family in Nicaragua. There are 8 women, 2 teenage boys & 2 young children in their 2 bedroom home. There income is $400. a month. We are proud we have been able to keep them all in school. Our goal has been to improve their quality of life & help them all move forward. In the past 3 years we have done much. No more dirt floors, repaired beds & new linen, a proper country style kitchen, solar lights, a computer, cable, medical care & more. We cover much of the monthly bills. But their tin roof leaks badly & is not safe & is too small. During the rainy season buckets catch water on the beds & throughout the house. Our goal this fall is a new roofing system that will give them a third bedroom & cover the toilet & the laundry areas.  We also need to improve the walls & make them earthquake proof. Using local labour the cost for our project is $8000. but we don't have the money. These are wonderful, warm & caring people who ask for little.  Their names are:


Juanita-the grandmother, Maritza & her 2 daughters Annabel & Imira, Mary Bell & her children Jennifer, Briston & Randall, Wendy & her young boy Sergito, & Kary & her toddler Issah.
When I visit I sleep in a hammock. They share everything with me. I love them all. But for the children to succeed they need to be able to stay in school, have proper housing & maintain their dignity. We hope you can assist. Nicaragua is the second poorest country in the Americas. Opportunities are few.
The women especially struggle. Help us help them.
