8 Months Was Supposed to Be the End.

Eight months ago, my sister was taken into an ICE detention center. We were told to be strong, that this nightmare had an end date. We counted the days. We held onto hope.

Now we’ve been told she has to stay another 8 months.

That news broke our family.

For 8 months, my sister has lived behind locked doors, separated from the people who love her, missing birthdays, holidays, and everyday moments most of us take for granted. Phone calls are short. Visits are limited. Every goodbye feels heavier than the last because we never know how she’s really holding up inside.
She is not a criminal. She is a daughter, a sister, a human being who deserves dignity and compassion.
We’re sharing her story because no one should have to endure this alone. The support raised here will go toward legal fees, basic necessities, and staying connected during a time meant to break people apart.
Every contribution, message, or share helps remind my sister that she hasn’t been forgotten, and that her life matters beyond the walls holding her.

Thank you for taking the time to read her story and for standing with our family as we continue to fight for her freedom and dignity.
