8 Days and Counting Without Water
Help Kelsey Get Running Water Back in Her Parents’ Home
Kelsey McClure lives on a ranch in Blanco, Texas where she helps care for her parents Mike (68, recovering from COVID and other serious health issues) and Michele. The freezing temperatures burst their well and water froze in all the lines running from the well to the house.
Mike and Michele went 72 hours without power, but it’s now 8 days and counting without water!
When the snow and ice thawed, Kelsey and her dad assessed the damage to her parents’ house: every single plumbing pipe is either cracked, burst, or broken beyond repair. Kelsey repaired the well herself with parts on hand from building her tiny home close to her parents, and she is still crawling under the house to identify additional damage and repair needs.
They are going to file with their insurance and then FEMA -- but anything given will assist with the high deductible payment as well as costs for parts (Home Depot and Lowe’s shelves are empty right now) and repairs.
If you know Kelsey, you know she’s always supporting others, lifting them up in times of stress, and brightening people’s day. She’s the glue at St. Edward’s University, from supporting staff, to mentoring
student employees, and even looking after campus squirrels. But now the shoe is on the other foot, and while it’s not easy for her to ask for help, she could use a dose of her own medicine.
On behalf of the many beneficiaries of Kelsey’s kindness, we thank you for any gift, in any amount, to help get her loving parents back on their feet with basic running water.
With gratitude,
Elma, James & Carlos Aldrete
