Support Matt Dent's recovery
Donation protected
Matt and Holly have been blown away by all the support and have asked me to think everyone so very much for your donations. As Matt said “it means so much more to us than everyone will ever know”, so thank you from the bottom of our hearts.
A quick update. Matt is now attacking his rehab to build his strength to handle the challenges ahead and is get his strength back. Matt knows he has his family and community as his cheer squad and is working hard with the FSH rehab team to be as independent as possible and to leave hospital as soon as he can.

Matt Dent, my nephew, our quiet, funny, serious and gorgeous young man has been seriously injured and he needs our support and help.
On July 30th 2023, Matt's day of dirt bike riding took an unexpected turn when he fell badly and dislocated his left wrist, fractured his left arm, a few ribs and T10 - T12 vertebrae in his lower back. Matt was airlifted to Royal Perth Hospital where he underwent surgery to stabilize his spinal fractures. Despite the surgery no doubt saving his life, Matt currently is facing a long road to recovery.
Matt is now at Fiona Stanley Hospital undergoing extensive rehab. It is unknown yet the extent of his long-term injury, but for now he is in a wheelchair and having to make many adjustments. He is young, strong, determined and surrounded by family, friends and community that are his cheer squad. However, Matt and his beautiful, strong, and courageous Fiancé Holly, will need all our support as the rehab journey to get Matt back to the farm and places and people he loves is likely to be long and costly.
This accident has come at a time, when many of you know, Matt and Holly were counting down to their wedding day. This injury has turned their world upside down and put a pause on plans. Matt is determined and committed to rehab and Holly is by his side, but they have a long road.
This is why, with Matt & Holly's permission we are asking for your help to raise funds to ensure Matt and Holly need not worry and have funds available for ongoing expenses to support his recovery journey, the road back to the alter and a full and prosperous future together. All funds raised will go directly to Matt to help cover the associated costs of ongoing treatment, rehab equipment and care needs to support his transition back to home and work. Thanks.
