Help for Eric Nutzhorn and Family
Donation protected
Hey everyone my name is Andrew McInnis and I have the pleasure of calling Eric Nutzhorn one of my best friends. As I'm sure you all know, Eric has been battling a brain tumor for the past 5 years. There have been many ups and downs in his fight. This last spring Eric was rushed to Calgary to the Foothills hospital with a bleed on the brain. He was in pretty rough shape for a few weeks but was able to pull through and return home to Creston before heading to Vancouver in November to have the tumor operated on. On November 16th Eric went in for surgery and they were able to remove 99% of the tumor. However there were some setbacks in his recovery with seizures and infections. When the pathology came back on the tumor we all got news nobody wanted to hear. Eric has a very rare form of cancer (epithelilod glioblastoma multiforme) and after a brief stint home for Christmas after being away in Vancouver for over a month he was on his way to Kelowna to the cancer clinic. Eric has been in Kelowna for about a week and a half and today I heard news that he has caught an infection that may be contagious to the other patients in the lodge there. This leaves meals and accommodations a little up in the air at the moment. With Erics parents Scott and Brenda spending well over $5000 on hotels, food, gas etc things have been very difficult. Scott has continued to work while Eric has been in the hospital to be able to ensure bills are paid and that Brenda can be there for Eric during his treatments. What I'm getting at is that I hope we can all pull together as friends and help Eric and his family out. Any amount you can spare would be greatly appreciated and will help take the financial stress off this situation and leave Eric to focus on his radiation and chemotherapy. I will add more to this description in the near future including updates. Eric's Aunt and Cousin have also ordered custom rubber bracelets (just like the kinds Eric always wears, like the livestrong ones) that will be available to show your support of Erics battle. They will be blue in colour and display the message "Eric Strong" on them. They will be available at the gym at the rec center where Eric works as a trainer here in Creston. When they come in I will let everyone know and if youd like to arrange to get one we will do our best to make that happen. Anyways, please help these wonderful friends in their time of need. Much love. Thank you,
Andrew McInnis
