Send Sea Teens to a Chicago Festival!

Hi, everyone!

This message is from the Sea Tea Improv Performance Troupe class, known from this moment on as the Sea Teens. We are Dylan, Tom, Noah, Brandon, Council, Savannah, Olivia, Marissa, Paolo, Vigil, Aleksei, Eric & Grant-- and we'd love for you to help send us to Chicago for a Teen Comedy Festival.

You've heard of Sea Tea Improv, the award-winning improv company that is always working to support comedy in Connecticut-- but have you heard of us, the SEA TEENS?

We're an advanced group of improvisers who are taking a performance class at Sea Tea Studios, and we've been invited to take workshops and perform at the TEEN COMEDY FEST put on by CHICAGO IMPROV PRODUCTIONS!

Our improv is ready and we're excited to go to Chicago, but we just need to get ourselves there. We're hoping to raise enough to either take a couple of vans and drive on an epic road trip, or fly and enjoy more time in one of America's greatest cities!

Sea Tea Improv intentionally kept the cost of our classes very low so that every family could afford to enroll its teens in our class. Now, we ask you, our friends, community members, distant relatives, and perhaps kind strangers to pitch in a few dollars to take these amazing students out to Chicago.

So, here's our plan:

If we raise $2500, we can drive out to Chicago!

For $3500, we'll be able to take in some of the sights and perhaps see a professional improv show at Second City!

And if we get all the way to our super-stretch-goal of $6,000, we can fly and spend even more time in Chicago, and be less exhausted from travel once we hit the stage.

Here are 9 reasons you should donate to the Sea Tea Improv Teen Performance Class's trip to Chicago:

1. Our team has worked really hard to hone their improv skills and want to show our stuff!

2. The festival includes workshops so that we can get even better.

3. Sending us there would be great for Hartford and Connecticut-- we'd continue to promote Hartford as a cool destination where great comedy happens.

4. We'll meet other teens an improvisers from all over the country!

5. As schools continue to cut arts budgets, travel opportunities like this one are rarer and rarer. Sea Tea Improv is dedicated to filling in that gap with excellent programming and a killer field trip.

6. If we pull this off, we'll make it an annual tradition, and bring teens to Chicago for years who would normally not be able to afford to go.

7. Several of our students have reported that improv has helped them to connect with their peers better and, in one specific case, helped teens stand up to their bullies. Our improv classes build self-esteem and teamwork in the best way that extends far outside our studio.

8. Think there should be more women in comedy? Support the four insanely awesome, smart young women we have on our team and help them take advantage of this opportunity.

9. Life is short. Send some really, really excited teens to Chicago-- you'll make their year.

Sincerely,

Dylan, Tom, Noah, Brandon, Council, Savannah, Olivia, Marissa, Paolo, Vigil, Aleksei, Eric & Grant
