The Hippert family home
Donation protected
My name is Courtenay Hippert, a married disabled veteran who is dependent now on the medical care of my husband, who also cares for our beautiful six year old daughter.
I bought a house I 2015 when I was healthy and on active duty. Five years later, I am medically retired, unemployable, and I have a dangerous symptom that means that I can never be alone.
I am in dire straits. My only income is the pension I get from the government, which is about 20% of what I need to keep the house with lights on and heat in the winter, with food for at least the little one.
We lived mostly off of credit for the last few years, and generosity from my parents is the only reason we still have a home to save. Unfortunately, with mounting debt, the payments are no longer manageable. We cannot pay our mortgage-- the overdue utilities had even the extra generous help from my father evaporate before I could even see it. Several failed transactions had so much red- over a thousand dollars overdrawn, with even more overdue on utilities.
My insurance got the last of it, before I could even look at paying the mortgage.
Every little bit helps. We desperately need help, as we are not far from losing our home.
I offer my deepest gratitude for even reading this much. Asking for help has always been very hard for me.
