When this divorce began we had no idea that we would be battling for our freedom and independence. No one had any idea that we would be involved in three separate divisions of the legal system; divorce court, civil court, and criminal court and now we have been wrapped up with the IRS due to Michael Ham’s past actions. We had no idea who the person in our family was and in time we came to learn there was a vast amount about his life we did not know about.
Not only did this require us to have legal representation, but we went as far as to move from the Phoenix area, our home for the past 20 years, for our safety and security. Despite all these measures taken, we are constantly facing consequences from Michael Ham’s actions, just last week we have all been subpoenaed by the IRS in a case against Michael Ham. Financially, we have drained every avenue and even taken away the prospect of undergraduate and graduate school for different siblings.
There has been an iron fist around our lives for as long as we can remember, we weren’t allowed to walk away and have been fighting everyday since. We came to find that not only had our father used us as a placeholder for a con but our grandparents were also involved, all for their own personal gain despite the lasting effects it would have on all of us mentally and legally.
We have always been a private family, but after enduring these past 4 years and discovering all the lies that had been told to us and about us, we decided to share as it not only affected us but others as well. It has dragged our lives down drastically, making it not only embarrassing to share how blind we were but how we were simply used as pawns in our own lives. Even after sharing our journey through our mother's social media, we have had support from friends wanting to set this up and lead the cause but are in fear of being attached to us publicly due to the power that this individual holds.
The long road is finally coming to an end, there are many moving parts, there are 3 court appearances coming up in May and we have no legal representation to provide us a voice in court. We have no money to put into this as we poured money into past battles. We have exhausted the resources of Pro-Bono attorneys to help, but no one can do much as his team of representation has power and no one is willing to take on this case for free. He has a power-house team of legal representation. Dr. Ham and opposing counsel have taken the voice of many other victims, we are looking to hire someone that can provide this for us and hopefully provide closure for us and our future.
We have gotten in touch with some legal representation, but they all require a retainer in order to take on this quest.
