We Got This

Hey Friends and Family!

September 2023 update coming at ya!!!

After a couple false starts, the bone marrow transplant is happening! Frank is finishing up a round of chemo today and admitted to City of Hope on Saturday. He is scheduled for Tuesday, 9.19.23 for the bone marrow transplant procedure.

Following the procedure, he will stay under quarantine until December to allow his body and immunity a safe amount of time to heal and recover. Then he'll return home and take the rest of the year off of work to keep him healthy while the new bone marrow does its thing.

We are so close to the original $15K goal and the Johnson family is absolutely beside themselves with this support. Thank you everyone.

Please consider donating (again if you already did. :D ) because the year out of work Frank has ahead was unexpected for our friends, the Johnson family. Everything helps!!! Also, remember to share the fundraiser on your social media or by text to others who might be able to donate.

Thank you all for all the ways you have shown love and support to the Johnson family. The big push is just ahead, but as Frank says, WE GOT THIS.

Hey Friends and Family!

It's nearly June 2023....so here is an UPDATE on Frank:

Frank will be starting his 6th cycle of chemo on June 12th to prepare him for a bone marrow transplant. This is great news overall, but will come with some sacrifice. Frank is scheduled to admit to the hospital on June 30th for a minimum 6 week stay for the transplant. Nicole will be home full time with the girls while he is there, so any extra support we can get to the family now to help them while he is getting new bone marrow would be amazing. We are almost halfway to the goal!

Please also share this widely, remember that every dollar helps, and that we also have a meal train for Nicole and the girls while Frank is hospitalized. https://mealtrain.com/lymvor

Thank you again to those who donated/donate often (!!!) or wish they could - it all means something.

ORIGINAL POST from March 2023:
Hey Friends and Family!

It's time to rally the troops and circle the wagons!
As you may know, our beloved friend Frank is undergoing some treatment right now. He feels good about the care he is getting at City of Hope, the doctors that have been helping him with his myelodysplastic syndrome (MDS) diagnosis, and he feels like they have a solid treatment plan. He's in good hands, so let's concentrate on those GOOD VIBES!

Thank you to everyone who has been involved in the Meal Train from near and far. That helped the family tremendously during the first round of treatment! We will keep doing that here and there as treatment continues.

We are also looking to raise funds to support the family for all the small and large, predictable and unpredictable medical and life expenses that are to come while they focus on keeping Frank in good spirits and healthy. The doctors recently advised him to stop working within the next couple of weeks to protect his immunity and get as much rest as possible. Frank loves his job as a Special Ed teacher, so even though it will be hard, he is putting his health first right now. Nicole recently found out she will be laid off, the blessing of which is she will be able to be fully available while the family navigates this. However, the obvious downside is that these employment changes were abrupt and somewhat unexpected. This fund is to help them with medical costs not covered by insurance and anything they may need so that they can focus on keeping Frank and the family healthy and staying positive.

We all know Frank and his tremendous love for his friends, family, and students. Every one of us can recall a time when Frank was there for us. We know how strong this support network is, and how important it is to be able to lean into that. It takes a village, and we are that village. We are ready and happy to enact this safety net of loved ones to help the Johnson family through this, so Frank can get back to living his best life! So let's show up and show out for these people we love so much.

Thank you so kindly for considering any amount you feel comfortable to donate, it all helps, and goes directly to them and their needs. However, if you'd prefer not to donate money, or you're near the Johnson's and want to bring them some food, there is a separate meal train and gift card site. https://mealtrain.com/lymvor

Feel free to share this GoFundMe page WIDELY.

As Frank says, WE GOT THIS.
