HELP TITO FIGHT FIP!!!!

Hi everyone!

As many of you know, 1 year old Tito was rescued and trapped in a courtyard in Harlem after he was thrown out of a window! Just unfathomable and heartbreaking that a human being could do something like that! I received a message from a concerned neighbor who saw this skinny, dirty, starving cat with a limp and knew he needed to be rescued asap.

I immediately responded, trapped him, and thankfully was able to save this poor boy's life. He went to the vet and got neutered, vaccinated, tested, de-flea'd, de-wormed, and was given a full exam. After an X-ray, we discovered there was no break in his leg and we assumed it was a bad sprain which would heal in time. He also had a terrible sore on his cheek and scabs all over his body. He received antibiotics and was sent home.

After being brought inside, his true personality started to shine, as he was able to put on some weight and receive lots of love and care. Tito is an absolute gem!!! A sweet, affectionate and loving little boy (a full on lap cat)...who was obviously so grateful to be saved!

After a few more visits to the vet and a few more rounds of antibiotics, the sore on his cheek finally healed. He still had his limp, but it wasn't causing any pain and he was able to play and even run.

However, just a couple weeks ago, his personality changed. He began to act a little lethargic and his third eye started to come out. I took him to the vet and after the bloodwork results, along with the symptoms of the third eye out and limp, he was diagnosed with Dry/Neuroligical FIP. A disease which used to be a death sentence.

But now there is medicine that has fully cured cats from FIP. The cat needs to be injected daily for about 3 months and after that, he as a 95% chance of a full recovery. This medicine is very expensive however...about $80 per vile. We believe Tito deserves to be given this chance to survive. He has been through so much in his short life and has pulled through many times. We feel he will kick FIP as well! He just needs a chance!

Right now, NYCARG has 51 cats in our care. A lot of animals for a very small rescue! And there are many more who need to be rescued and vetted and adopted. So we desperately need your help to help Tito! This is a huge undertaking. PLEASE consider donating to help sweet and precious Tito fight FIP!!!!
