Help Suha's family survive cold weather and famine in Gaza

Donation protected
I'm helping to raise funds for Suha and her family who are stuck in Gaza.

Currently, they are staying in a tent which was recently destroyed by stormy weather. They need money to help find find a new tent, or other shelter to stay in.

Suha who is working as a nurse told me today (27th November 2025): "My family needs a place or tent to shelter our children from the cold, and my sick husband cannot tolerate the cold because his condition is worsening day by day due to cancer".

Here she is working as a nurse, and below are her children clearing water from their flooded tent.

Backstory

When I was first introduced to the family just over a year ago via a close friend, they were living displaced in the Nuseirat refugee camp located in the centre of the Gaza strip. At the start of the first ceasefire, they managed to return to their home - which was entirely destroyed by airstrikes - for a short period, and now they are displaced again, living in the rubble and rubbish. They urgently require donations to help pay for food, clothes and medical assistance (see more below).

This is a photograph Suha shared earlier this year of her husband clearing a space in the wreckage for the family to sit together - they have nowhere else to go.

At the time, Suha told me: "I am from Gaza, looking for an urgent way out, through any possible means: a crossing, a humanitarian corridor, or even through communication through international organizations".

Throughout the war, Suha has worked as a volunteer nurse, while her husband, Moamen, is living with cancer and in need of medical treatment.

At the start of last December, the family narrowly escaped another airstrike. Suha's husband was wounded and their tent was damaged once again and some of their clothing was also damaged. Earlier donations have gone towards buying materials to help secure their tent as well as winter clothing.

The tent they were staying in in the camp was bombed (pictured below), and the family spent months without any shelter.

Meanwhile, Suha's husband Moamen is suffering from cancer, and in need of costly medical treatment.

Suha is 34 years old and her husband Moamen is 40 years old. They have five children - the eldest is 14 and the youngest is just two years old.

Suha's family originally comes from the Shuja'iyya neighborhood in Gaza city, where their house was destroyed by bombs.

Their family has been displaced more than 10 times due to the war, along with their five young children, who are between the ages of 2 and 14.

Please donate to this fundraiser to help Suha and her family work towards building their clothes, secure shelter from the cold, and purchase food, winter clothing, and medical assistance.

I am sending the funds via Paypal.

** UPDATE (17th November 2024) **

A quick update - Suha has told me that because of the donations received so far, she has managed to buy a tent awning and clothes for the children, pictured below. She says "I thank all the supporters for their support". Please continue donating to help pay for food, more robust accommodation, more winter clothes and medical treatment.
