Krum Sergiev is a complicated man.  He is a world-class map maker.  He is a top-notch athlete and coach. He is a dedicated father to Nick and Melanie. He is a carpenter. He is a good friend and neighbor.  Now he is in the greatest race of his life and he is racing to win. His words "Josh - I'm fifty two - I can't throw in the towel".
Krum's liver is failing and the doctors give him 50/50 odds of surviving 6 months. If he does this, he can get on a transplant list. So this is no sprint - more like the Marathon from Hell.
Both kids are doing what they can to help, but they are kids. Krum is pretty much bedridden and in serious pain. Work is out of the question. Mortgage, fuel, utilities, and taxes, all take money.
I started visiting Krum three weeks ago and realized that while we friends and neighbors were all lending a hand, this was not going to take care of the mounting financial crisis for Krum and his kids. So I asked him (and the kids) permission to launch a campaign for them. They gave me the go ahead.
So here it is people, I want to raise $30,000 so that for the next 15 months Krum can focus on the real work ahead without distraction and know that his family is taken care of. We can do this of everyone gives what they can when they can.
Who am I? Just a friend and neighbor who hopes that someone would look after my family if the shoe were on the other foot.
Thanks in advance.
Sincerely, Josh Carpenter
