Help Avraham win the battle

Please join us in supporting a family of 10 who is always at the forefront of helping others, in their quiet, under the radar fashion! Right now they need our help. Itamar and Geulah and their 7 small children made Aliyah this past summer of 2018 and moved from Florida to Israel.
They were blessed with a new baby a few months later! Just as they were starting to settle in and get acclimated to their new surroundings, they were struck with a huge challenge. Their 7-year-old son, Avraham, was diagnosed with a very aggressive and malignant form of bone cancer called Ewing Sarcoma in his chest cavity. He immediately was admitted into Schneider Children’s Hospital in Israel and began intensive treatments. If all goes according to what the doctors say, Avraham will undergo about a year of chemotherapy, radiation, and surgery- most of which time is spent sleeping in the hospital. They are now on week 8 and desperately need our help. One parent stays with Avraham in the hospital while the other parent manages the other 7 children at home. As one can imagine, it is impossible to work. However, the basic needs such as rent, water, electric, food, ect. continue to pile up. They have invested thousands of dollars in, out of pocket, cutting edge anti-cancer treatments (such as IV Vitamin C), supplements, and medicines based on the recommendations of their expert ortho-molecular MD specialist. All of this is to give him the best chance at life. PLEASE… open your hearts, open your prayers, and open your wallets to help this family.
Below are a few words his mother had to say:
As any parent would feel, we were in complete shock and disbelief when we were told our sweet little Avraham had cancer. It is as if life changed within an instance. The days I thought would be spent enjoying a new baby were now going to be spent in a hospital helping Avraham battle for his life. The outpouring of love and support from all over the world we have received is really unbelievable and amazing. I cannot say thank you enough for each one of you. During this ordeal, we have received many phone calls and messages (although I have not been able to respond to lots of them since I am so busy with Avraham or our other 7 small children) and this has given us the strength we need. The messages, kind words, and financial assistance is so appreciated. No parent should go through the situation we are in right now but by your support, you are definitely helping to lighten our load. THANK YOU! G-d only gives us challenges we can overcome, otherwise we wouldn’t have the test. We know we have a long fight ahead of us but for now, we just go day by day. Avraham continues to amaze us each day with his strength and positivity. Most kids are lying in bed all day in the oncology unit… Not Mr. Avraham. He is out and about in the unit doing crafts, legos, pottery, guitar, and with a little convincing… even school work! He by far, is the strongest and most determined little boy you will ever meet. With the help of G-d, this strength and determination will pull him through. Each doctor that comes in to check him, he asks for a “bracha” (blessing) that he should have a speedy recovery. He likes to know all medicines that he is given. One nurse told him the medicine she was giving him was for nausea and vomiting. Avraham responds, “I’m not nauseous and I’m not vomiting. You have to “Think Good and it Will Be Good!” Although we are a little bias since he is our son, all the nurses and doctors say they have never met a child like Avraham. A few have even said, “We’re not religious now, but by the time you all leave, I think we just may be!” Right now we spend our days with a smile on our face and try to bring hope to the other kids and families in the unit. I remember a story I was once told of a girl on an airplane. There was tons of turbulence and everyone on the plane was so afraid, except this one girl who was so calmly reading her book. This guy kept watching in amazement at how she was so calm. When the plane landed, he went over to the girl and asked, “How were you so relaxed and calm?” She responded, “Easy, I knew I was in good hands. My father is the pilot.” We relate to this story and know that we are in good hands because G-d is OUR pilot. We have a giant mountain to overcome right now, but we can’t wait to look back in one year, and with the help of G-d and with the help of each one of you, be so proud we overcame it. Just like I am sitting here right now telling you of Avraham’s progress, I really can’t wait to send the final update that he is COMPLETELY HEALTHY again! Until this time, please continue to keep us in your thoughts and prayers (Avraham Aaron ben Geulah). My bracha to you all is that you continue to grow from strength to strength. Thank you so much for your kindness and generosity! And as Avraham would say, “Think Good and it WILL be good!”
