My dad was diagnosed with ALS in late 2016. Some people with this disease develop their symptoms slowly. My dad has a very fast, aggressive form. He can no longer speak, walk, eat or breathe completely on his own. He is on a ventilator 98% of the time. He served in the Army National Guard Reserves for almost 20 years and the VA is denying him for any benefits. My mom has spoken with multiple people trying to fight them on this, and has seen no results. My dad has also been denied for Disability and just as of yesterday, was refused for Hospice care because his needs are too great and the cost is too much. So with that being said, our family is struggling. The medical bills are piling up and it's getting to be too much. My mom is trying to work more but is also stressing about spending time with my dad in his last days. If you cannot afford to help, please share this post. Everything counts. Thank you.
