Amber's Recovery (fundraiser by her co-workers)
Donation protected
Most of us have heard about the lightning strike on August 4th that critically injured 4 people in DC (Lafayette Park). Unfortunately, the traumatic event took three lives and left one other, Amber Escudero-Kontostathis, fighting for her life at a local hospital on her 28th birthday.
For those of you who don't know her, Amber has dedicated her life to helping others. With an undergrad in International Studies from Pepperdine, she is starting her Master's program in Advanced International Studies at Johns Hopkins in the fall. Despite that huge undertaking, she has also been working full-time directing fundraising campaigns for various nonprofits in Washington DC.
We are incredibly grateful that Amber is still here with us, but her medical recovery and the surrounding expenses are unknown at this time. This GoFundMe has been set up by her co-workers and will assist her and her family with hospital bills and any other miscellaneous expenses needed to get Amber comfortably home and on the road to recovery.
We are reaching out to the public, hoping that others will feel inclined to support her how she has supported many others. Please give what you can and pass this page along to anyone and everyone. Every dollar and every “share” will help get Amber and her family financial support so they can focus entirely on her recovery. Any funds not spent on Amber will be donated to some of her favorite charities.
Thank you in advance for your kindness, and our deepest condolences to the other victims of this tragedy ❤️
