Let me start by saying how amazing my dad is, he hands down has been the #1 supporter in me and my brother's lives and has been there for us always, he also happens to be my son's very best friend. He has been a single parent for the past 11 years. He has worked hard his entire life and has very little to show for it. He is 63 and has been working construction since his teens and it has taken quite the toll on him physically, mentally and financially. My dad is a very independent person and hates asking for help so that is why I am doing it for him. 
The past few years have been rough on my dad, he has Type 1 diabetes and high blood pressure, complications with both have caused accidents and medical issues and put him in the hospital on multiple occasions. But he is still out there in the California heat working his little butt off! Lately his health hasn't been the best, he is self employed so he doesn't qualify for most benefits. And as I write this my dad is in the hospital with severe dehydration and Diabetic Ketoacidosis. That's where we need your help. My dad deserves to take some time off(ideally retire) so that he can rest and consentrate on his health and relax a bit, but his rent and never ending bills dont allow that. I wanted to raise enough money to cover his rent and utilities for at least a few months so my dad can take some much needed and much deserved time off without the stress of not being able to pay rent. If you could please help, even just a few dollars it would mean the world to my dad! Trust me when I say he deserves it more than anyone I know!
