Fund for Gail Thornton End of Life Care

To the Family, friends and loved ones of Gail Thornton, we’re sad to share that Gail has been diagnosed with stage 4 terminal cancer.

As you will imagine, this news has come as a terrible shock. Apologies if this is hard to read, given the severity of the illness the family wished to communicate things as quickly as possible.

For those who know Gail Thornton, you will recognise her as the creator and proud owner of Bisson Bears for the last 30 years. A business inspired by the birth of her beloved son Connor, she had a vision of the type of teddy bear and stories she wanted to share with him throughout his childhood and worked tirelessly to bring that vision to life.

This uncommon talent for designing and hand crafting unique yet traditional mohair bears and animals has taken Gail to countries such as Japan, UK and Germany (amongst others) where she has met with valued and loyal customers, many of whom are now her friends.

As a self employed artist, Gail relies on the specialist events across the year to sell her bears and secure the majority of her living expenses. The recent news has rendered this impossible given the urgency of her hospital care.

To support our precious mother and friend Gail to focus on enjoying time with her close family and not have the burden of finances as a distraction, we invite those who might like to make a contribution financially or even with a message of love to join us in sharing what you can to help make Gail's remaining time as peaceful as possible.

The money raised will go towards her living costs and care.

Any money which is leftover will be donated to Kreftforeningen.

Kreftforeningen is the Norwegian Cancer Society. There main goal is to fight and prevent cancer and to improve life with cancer for patients and their families.

Her son Connor is custodian of the group and will keep us updated on Gail’s progress and answer any questions you may have.
