Support for Justine (“Mema”) in Her Cancer Journey
In June 2024, our beloved Justine at the young age of 61—known to most as Mema—was diagnosed with stage 4 lung cancer after an unexpected collapsed lung. The cancer carries a KRAS G12C mutation, a challenging diagnosis, but one she has faced with incredible strength and determination.
For nearly 10 months, Justine responded well to treatment and remained stable, showing hopeful progress. Recently, however, things have taken a difficult turn. After several hospital admissions for complications we believed were related to her treatment, doctors now suspect she is facing a rare progression: leptomeningeal disease, a condition where cancer spreads to the membranes surrounding the brain and spinal cord.
We are still waiting for answers and next steps from her medical team, but what we know now is that Justine needs 24/7 care. This is a life-changing shift, and the emotional and financial toll is overwhelming.
We are reaching out to our community for help. Funds raised will go directly toward:
• Home health care and 24/7 support
• Medical expenses not covered by insurance
• Comfort and quality-of-life needs for Justine during this time
• Support for the family as we navigate these challenges together
Justine has touched so many lives with her kindness, wisdom, and unwavering love. If you are able to contribute, share, or simply send your prayers and good thoughts, we are deeply grateful.
Thank you for standing with Mema.
