Gear list Appalachian Journey Hello friends and family! I'm planning a trip to hike the Appalachian trail and need your help. This trail is over 2,000 miles long and crosses 13 states. the average time to finish the entire trail is anywhere from 4-6 months. Each month you're out there costs roughly $1,000.
