(Say it like Schiavone:) It's BIIIIILLLLLLLLLLLLL!
If you know or follow Christina, then you know Billie. And, if you don't:
Billie is roughly 14-years old and the physical, actual child of Christina, (yes, this totally makes sense and is totally possible), and is currently under ICU Emergency Care at MedVet.
Billie, the sweetest child to ever exist (unless you're a bird), was admitted to MedVet after an emergency trip to her normal team of doctors due to extremely labored breathing. She had been breathing strangely for a few days, which finally caused enough concern to warrant a video sent to her doctors. The response was, "Bring her in IMMEDIATELY," and we've been in Chaos and Concern Mode since.
Her current diagnosis:
Billie has been on oxygen for the last 48 hours and is unable to be weaned off, despite the attempt to. She's been given antibiotics to fight fluid in her lungs and potential chronic pneumonia and/or chronic bronchial issues. This is actually the best case scenario.
As of Sunday 8/10, she cannot return home, Her breathing needs to drop down to under 40 Breaths per Minute, and she is currently over 80. The next steps include an injectable steroid, (which is problematic due to her Stage 2 Renal Disease) and an additional round of antibiotics with the hope that she'll begin breathing well enough on her own that she can be weaned off oxygen and returned home for lengthly follow-up care.
If this doesn't happen, there are two options: putting her under to go in and look at her lungs (BIG risk for an old dog) or consider quality of life and say goodbye.
Plan for the next 24-48 hours:
Additional hospitalization in ICU/oxygen, IV fluids and medications, recheck bloodwork, echocardiogram and consult with Cardiology.
As of today, I have spent:
Continued ER Care cost: $5,400
Recent intake: $5,210.68
Renal Disease Total: $4,700
That's a total of: $15,300.
This is where you come in.
Your hard-earned dollars can help Christina continue to care for Billie no matter what costs MedVet sends over. Especially since there is a large chance that Billie will not make it through this.
If you know a pet owner, you've probably heard of this scenario before; all the money spent and they still had to say goodbye. Saddled with debt and mourning, some pet owners are left with no option to bring their baby home. Billie's ER team has brought this up multiple times.
And, while we hope this is not the case, it is further proof that your support will go a long way.
Whether it's $5 or more, any amount sends love and support to a duo that struggles to ask for it in the first place.
If you know Christina, you know they hate asking for anything. (Except for your support of Pstine, Sdan, Cngo, tpeople, or animals.) Call it a trauma response or something else, Christina is NOT a fan of asking for help. But they will for Billie.
They would do anything for Billie.
Funds go directly towards paying for Billie's care.
