Austin's Road To Recovery

**Update: Thank you so much for your generosity! Because Mallory isn’t able to visit him, she has decided to use your donations to help pay for a live-in care facility during his initial recovery period. He will need to relearn how to care for himself and will need to be under the care of a nurse while his face heals. He is looking at plastic surgery to repair his eyes right now. Mallory will also be purchasing him some new clothes because he only had the ones on his back at the time of the accident.**

Austin Weissel is a loving father to a 1 1/2-year-old son and an integral member of this community. He is adored by his son, Bow, whose eyes light up whenever he sees his dad. On November 13 at 8:40 am in Magalia, CA, he was in a motorcycle collision that resulted in him being rushed to the closest hospital, Enloe Medical Center in Chico, CA. Austin has suffered severe trauma to his face, both of his lungs are collapsed, and he is currently being life-flighted to Stanford Medical Center for more intensive care. He will need several surgeries to reconstruct his face, will need to be hospitalized for months, and then sent to a care facility following his release from the hospital.

The mother of his child will be sticking by his side through this journey towards recovery and is specifically asking for help affording hotel rooms and food while she is in the San Fransisco Area. She is a horse trainer and stay-at-home mom, so she will not be receiving any sick leave for the travel and time spent at the hospital.
