Pebbles needs knee surgery!

2025 update:

We were unable to raise the funds to get Pebbles her surgery in 2024, but we did use most of the funds we raised so far to pay for her to get various medications in the last 8 months or so (she's on two painkillers, a shot for arthritis, and a muscle relaxer). Unfortunately, that means we need to replace those funds in being able to put them toward the surgery.

Background:

Our 8yo pitbull Pebbles recently went to the emergency vet when she was having trouble standing and walking at all. Her pain was really obvious and really heartbreaking. We found out there that she tore the CCLs (in humans, that'd be the ACLs) in both of her legs. She needs surgery to repair that, and every day that she goes without surgery is causing structural damage in her knees. She's on pain meds for now, but she needs the surgeries.

Her surgical consult is not until July 18, and we're being told that her surgery will cost between $2,000 and $8,000 PER KNEE, depending on the extent of the damage. Even on the low end, that's well beyond our means. Our options at this point are crowdfunding to afford that or just not get Pebbles this surgery, which will change her quality of life for the worse.

Pebbles doesn't deserve to be in pain just because her family doesn't have the money for her surgery, so we need help from our friends and family.

Previous Update:

We consulted with the surgeon and learned that Pebbles only has one surgical option, and it's the more expensive one. She also has to have both knees done at once because she has pretty severe arthritis in both knees, and that recovery is very intense—so intense that my husband will likely need to take at least one week off work to help her stand/move. All things considered...we need more help, and we had to raise our goal.

Pebbles can get surgery around mid-August if we can afford it by then.
