For the last 30 years, our umbrella cockatoo, Aoloni, has enriched our family and the lives of everyone she's met. Cockatoo's have a lifespan of up to 70 years in captivity, but last week blood began to appear in her fecal matter and did not relent. After multiple tests, it was determined she needed an emergency surgery to remove masses in her abdomen and a hysterectomy in order to save her life.
We understand that in the midst of a global pandemic these are difficult times for everyone. Our family is not excluded in this, as the COVID-19 has hit us hard as well. Needless to say, these tests and surgeries were a huge blow on top of it all, but we will always do everything possible to help our loved ones.
We're asking for contributions to help offset the costs of these expensive tests and surgeries. Any little bit helps, and if you're unable to donate at this time that's okay, prayers and positive vibes are always appreciated. We will be sending updates on Aoloni's surgery and recovery throughout.
