Unfortunately our mom passed away today April 1st (April fools day ) , at 12:55 in the morning. She had been fighting a rare disease for over a year . She had gone through chemo and dialysis and other treatments to try to slow down the disease but sadly it was diagnosed in the later stages and took a tremendous toll on her body physically. The disease is called amyloidosis which is not commonly found in women and for ppl at the age of 48 it is more commonly seen in males in their 70’s . But it is still rare . The disease causes and mass produce of proteins that effects all the organs and it can start relatively anywhere . For our mom is started in her pelvic area which caused her legs to swell with fluid and eventually due to no treatment it went to her stomach then lungs . Doctors did manage to take 100 pounds of fluid weight off of her but the damage was already done …. She also had few other issues like blood clot in her lung/heart area . She wanted to fight for the three of us kids but she decided the pain wasn’t going away and there was no progress . So she decided to be taken off of everything . Luckily she saw all three of us graduate before she passed I graduated few years before my brothers did and I have the hospital staff and the make a wish foundation people to thank for making it possible. We found out social security will not help us cover for any medical expenses and just medical bills alone is $30000 grand .
