Living Life to the Fullest

Obi goes by many names and wears even more hats. Some know her as Monica, others Obi Joe, and for one very special kiddo: Momma. Obi is many things: a Mother, Camp Director, Girl Scout, Czocha wichard, Broncos fan, devout Christian, story teller, astronomer, daughter, auntie, sister, mentor and loyal friend. Over the last month, Obi has had to show us another side of herself: the warrior.

This spring, doctors diagnosed Obi with a brain tumor and cancer. She has battled through surgery, and now radiation and chemotherapy. Each and every day, Obi shows cancer who’s boss! Anyone who has met Obi shouldn’t be surprised by this. She’s the strongest, faith-driven, bravest (and sometimes most stubborn) person we know. All of these attributes help reassure us that Obi has enough strength, faith, grit and sheer will power to battle cancer and fight her way back to health!

Right now, the last thing Obi needs to think about is finances. This fundraiser exists to help raise money for just that purpose! We are asking for donations on Obi’s behalf to help pay for all her medical bills and other medical expenses that add up: emergency room visits, hospital stays, surgery, medications, rehab centers, physical & occupational therapy, chemotherapy pills and radiation treatments, walkers, shower chairs, anti-nausea glasses, and any additional unforeseen medical expenses.

Even more than helping to cover medical costs, this fundraiser is to help Obi live life to the fullest!! We want to help Obi and her daughter, Tinkerbell, make amazing memories together! Whether it’s going out for a night on the town getting cheese burgers or sushi (depends on if it’s Tinkerbell or Obi deciding), going fishing with the family, experiencing the magic of Disney World, or even going snorkeling and braving her fear of water- Obi is going to live life to the fullest every single day. God, her family and her friends want nothing less for the most amazing person we all know and love! Donations will help take this from a dream to reality!

Every day of her life, Obi has and continues to have a positive influence on every single person she meets. Her impact spans worldwide. Obi has changed the lives of thousands of campers, hundreds of camp and Girl Scout staff, wichards of Czocha College of Wizardry, mountain community members, church parishioners, friends and family.

None of us can ever truly express our gratitude for the positive influence Obi has on our lives. This fundraiser is a small, but hopefully powerful way, that we can show our love, gratitude and support. Even a donation of just $10 goes a long way in ensuring Obi has the freedom and ability to pay medical expenses, live life to the fullest, make incredible memories, and continue to be an amazing friend in all of our lives!
