My name is Wes Hardy, I am married with 8 childern.  I have tried to live my life to help those around me and be a friend to those around me. I have led a blessed life and I thank my loving God for the time I have been given. 

My first exposure to anyone with cancer was while working as a Registered Nurse at the local Hospital.  I left nursing in 2005 to pursue a job in the Oil and Gas industry. I worked my way to a very comfortable job in Manage at an international company.  We were on top of the world.

In September on 2013 I suddenly became very sick and ended up being admitted to the Hospital in Williston ND.  After a couple days of testing the diagnosis of liver cancer was delivered.  To me, no problem, I'm healthy and yourng (49 seemed pretty young to me) I will bounce back.  November 2013 the surgeons removed my gall bladder, spleen, tail of my pancreas, Left adrenal gland and a wedge resection of my liver.  When it was all said and done, I was told I had Stage 4 Pancreatic Cancer with metastasis to my Liver and left Kidney.  After a year on a chemo drug to fight the cancer the Kidney and Pancreatic tumors continue to grow. I underwent another surgery to remove a tumor from my left Kidney where my left adrenal gland and previous tumor were located.  This time it involved the blood supply to left Kidney.  The surgeons spent 8 hours carving the tumor tissue from the Kidney blood supply so they could spare my kidney.  Further testing determined that at this point there are no approved drugs to combat my rare cancer. 

I am being sent to Mayo Clinic to see what their best ideas are.  They are talking surgical intervention to try to prolong my life.  

We have no money or resources to make the trip to Mayo Clinic.  In order to do the surgery there will be an upfront payment of my surgical co-pays and the expense of my wife having to be there through all of this.  We have a camper and wil spend our time in Rochester at an RV Park. 

We received a phone call on December 17th asking if we can be in Rochester for my first appointment on January 11th for a 2 day workup and surgical consultation.

I know these are tough times for everyone and I appreciate any assistance.  I really want to fight this cancer but without help I'm not sure how it will all fit. 

I have spent the last 2 years enjoying every minute I have with all of my family and friends.  With 8 kids and 9 grandbabies I have a wonderful emotional support  I will continue to live life to the fullest measure I am able.  I appreciate your consideration and I hope you have a wonderful day.
