My name is Siobhan. I had the privilege of getting to know this little guy, Donnell Alston Jr., through my co-worker and his grandmother Patricia Chew while working at Children's National Hospital in Washington, DC. Patricia passed away around this time last year unexpectedly due to complications with a surgery. Tragically, her 5 year old grandson passed away from Leukemia on Sunday December 12th. He fought hard for such a little man. His parents are of course devastated and instead of preparing gifts for Christmas, they are planning their 5 year old's funeral. I cannot imagine how devastating that is. If Pat were still here I would be there for her in any way I could. She was like a grandmother to me. So I'm praying I can be here for DJ's parents by helping them with any costs they are of course handling right now with laying their child to rest.
