Mike was diagnosed with a grade II/III oglioastrocytoma brain tumor on January 19,2009 and will be undergoing his fourth brain tumor resection at UCSF (University of California San Francisco) on May 11 2017.  The surgery is called awake brain mapping and though total resection is unlikely,we are hoping his neurosurgeon can remove as much tumor as possible without damaging the healthy parts of his brain.  We are anticipating several weeks of radiation at UCSF following surgery and possibly more chemotherapy, which will all depend on the success of the surgery and pathology of the tumor. 
Due to his re-occurrence of yet another brain tumor, we will be in need of some financial assistance over the next few months.  Mike will be missing several weeks of work and his wife will be taking a short leave of absence from her job as Middle School English teacher.  So many of you have helped in the past, and it's very hard for us to ask for help once again.  However, for Mike to receive the best care and treatment possible he needs to be at UCSF, who has one of the best Neuro-Oncology programs in the country.  I guarantee that every dollar donated to us will go towards his upcoming surgery, radiation treatments, possibly more chemotherapy, and housing costs while we stay in San Francisco for several weeks during surgery and future treatments.  Thank you in advance for all the help;  no two people can battle this alone.  We are forever grateful for your support.
