Hi! I'm Alex, a 25-year-old trans guy based in Manchester. I have been on a waiting list for an NHS GIC for 4 years, attempting to receive the gender-affirming care I need. After such a long wait, my care was transferred over to Indigo who have been extremely pro-active in their approach and I couldn't be more grateful for this. Now that I am so close to starting my HRT and it no longer feels like my transition is an out-of-reach enigma, I can also look forward to the next step - top surgery.

Unfortunately, Indigo is not a service that can provide this surgery, and I shall instead have to pursue this privately. However, this is not something I will have the ability to access alone - private surgery is incredibly expensive, and I am not in a position where I would ever be able to afford this on my own. The last 4 years have not been easy, and I wouldn't have been able to get through them without the emotional support of my friends and family. I now ask, as someone who has never felt anything less than guilty when asking for help, for your support financially. If you are able, please help by donating in the hopes that I will gain the opportunity to live in a body which feels authentically my own.

The money raised will go towards the letter of recommendation for surgery, the surgery cost itself, and any recovery costs. After receiving a consultation for this surgery, the target will be changed accordingly to better reflect the costs I will incur.
