We are the Rutherford Law Firm, LLC, located in Columbia, SC. We currently represent Shakara, the Spring Valley High School Victim who was assaulted by former-Deputy Ben Fields.
Shakara is the victim of police brutality. While seated in her desk, attempting to do her math work, Fields forcibly removed her from the desk by choking her, flipping the desk over while she was still seated, and slinging her approximately six feet across the classroom by her clothes. As a result, she suffered injuries to her ribs, back, neck, and left shoulder; has a broken arm; and has abrasions on her face. The funds raised will go toward medical costs, future educational expenses, and other expenses incurred as a result of this horrific incident.
