Braydens Journey
Donation protected
Brayden came into this world with an amazing determination that I have never encountered before. At a year old, he began showing signs of Autism along with some sensory aversions. Some of the aversions include chewing. At 17 months we began testing and he officially received a diagnosis of Autism and microcephaly which means his head was no longer growing at a normal rate. This was alarming and more testing needed to be done. After receiving a MRI we were told in January of 2018 that our amazing boy has brain damage that they believe was birth. This damage affects all 4 lobes in his brain but the worst is in the area of langauge and speech. We were told that he may never talk. As a mother, you long for your child to call you momma or say "I love you" and we were being told the chances of that are very slim. After working with doctors, therapist, and doing some research we found the Emerge Center. He began going there for therapy in late 2018 and I am happy to report that he says momma now along with about 20 other words. His transformation is astounding! He has been accepted into a more elite program to continue this growth and learning but the cost was more the we were expecting. Any little bit helps. Even the act of sharing can help. Thank you taking the time to read his story and joining us on his journey.
