Hi everyone, It is with a very heavy heart that I write this. 2 nights ago, my son Dakota was involved in a tragedy. He is currently on life support and there are many unknowns. His sister Athena and I will be traveling to California tomorrow to be with him. Dakota, as many of you know has struggled with substance abuse. He recently had chosen to be sober for 6 months. He found a job and was seeing hope and a way out to a better life. The job fell through and his sober living situation timed out. His hope was fading as he had tried so hard to make a better way for himself. He slipped back into using for a short time and attempted to take his life on Sunday, August 25th. He lost most of his blood and went into severe cardiac arrest. He’s been incubated since. His injuries are severe and he is not breathing on his own. We need every ounce of support, love and light around him right now more than ever. Athena and I want to be there with him throughout this process as much as we can. We will both be leaving work and our homes to be with him. Assuming he comes through, his road to recovery will be long and filled with many unknowns. The injuries to his body are extensive and he will need major and multiple reconstructive surgeries over long periods of time. Our plan is to be present with Dakota as we know our love and support will create the best odds for his recovery. After he’s out of the red the recovery will be long and extensive. He may need 24 hour care for quite some time. Possibly permanently. Anything helps. Hugs, prayers and donations. Thank you all for the overwhelming love and outpouring we have received so far.
