Help The Journey.
Don protégé
If you know me and my family then you probably understand we are big on ice hockey. I got into it 18 years ago and haven't stopped since, played in Canada as I was growing up, and the last 9 years here in the UK.
Recently we had a family death. My dad passed away on Sunday morning April 30th. He was a big part of my journey in so many ways and there isn't enough words and ways to explain it. Always being there in every single way a dad should be. He gave his life to provide for me and my mom, especially for this last little bit of the ice hockey path I have chosen to take. He never complained. He worked so hard for me to finally be able to get the recognision he knew I deserved abroad to make it to college level.
On the 2nd of May I was invited to the main camp of Cornell College NCAA D1. His work, my work, finally being pushed and recognised, he wasn't able to see that invitation. But luckily he did see the other countless EHL offers, USPHL offers and 2 more NCAA D1/D3 showcase invites which came earlier in April and I know just how proud of me he was when I spoke to him.
This is for him and not letting his hard work over the last 20 years of giving to me.
The flights to America are extortionatly priced currently, and having to go back and forth in short periods of times really adds up. And being a family business now without my dad it is just left to me and mom to provide the costs of travel and everything else to try and fund it all and finish what he had worked for.
The current plans:
May 25th - 28th in Detroit, Michigan. NAHL - Predraft camp for the St Cloud 1st team.
June 22nd - 25th in Boston, Manchester. NCAA Showcase. D1/D3 Mix Showcase.
July 24th - 26th in New York -> Syracuse. NCAA Showcase. Cornell Uni/College.
In the next couple of months, the work I am going to put into ice hockey is exactly the same my dad put into his profession. I am going to try and do everything I can to make these showcases worth it.
If you can put in even the smallest amount to support the travel costs and the equipment costs it would be greatly appreciated.
Thank you with much love from Andras Kehl Jr. & Mom.
