Brody The Rescue Needs Your Help

I never thought I'd need to do this but I need help, well actually, he does - dog with out a name or home. The other night while driving, a dog was walking in the middle of the streets of Providence, people were driving erratically, almost hitting him, I honked, expecting him to move, he didnt. I stopped the car, and he did a lap around me, wiggling his tail. I didn't know what to do; this dog was covered in bumps, bites and scars all over him.
I'm not a dog person, never was, I'm into lizards, but one look at this poor soul and my heart melted. He was all beat up and in poor condition. I called animal rescue without any luck and figured that would probably put him down anyway, so, I then called a friend of mine that's into animal rescue for some help. She said she would be right there to help as soon as she could.
I came back a little while later, but couldn't find him, I honked, hoping he would pop his little head out. Then I spotted him. He didn't move, he was laying in a strip of cardboard and bubble wrap. It seemed that, from the time I left and came back, he must have been hit by a car or something must have happened to him because he could barely walk and his paws were swollen. My friend took him into her care for now. He needs vet visits to see what injuries he has and to see what we can do to increase his chance of survival. We want to take him in and give him a good life but he and I both need your help. Any donation would increase this dogs chance for a better life. People think that pitbulls are dangerous pets but sometimes I think people are. Help change this dogs life.
