Hello all, my name is Nadeshda. My family and I have decided to do a go fund me to help raise money for my dads bond and or attorney fees..
My father Juan Horacio is currently in a detention center under an ICE hold (Immigrations and Customs Enforcement) awaiting a deportation and removal hearing. Please take just a moment to try and imagine being arrested, detained, and waiting for a hearing to decide whether you are worthy of being allowed to legally continue living under the only laws, you’ve known for the past 25 years, or being deported to a country you’re terrified to go back to. Terrified at the thought of either being killed or tortured. If the mere thought of this gives you chills, I hope that you can empathize with the battle my family is facing.
Juan was born in Nicaragua in 1968 during a civil war. My father came into this country in 1998 after serving in the military in his country. At a very young age (14) he joined the military and after a few years he turned against the government when he learned what his country was doing; what can a 14 year old possibly know? My dad and my step mom have been married for seventeen years he has two beautiful step daughters and another daughter, two sons and four beautiful granddaughters. Our lives have been turned upside down within a matter of minutes when ICE took my father into custody as he was leaving home to go run errands.
As his daughter I am in constant fear that he will face a judge that will not truly see the husband, father, grandfather, son, brother, and law abiding person who was in the process of applying for some kind of residency. My father has tried applying for residency a handful of times but each time life has gotten in the way. On July 12, 2018 my father fell from a 40 foot roof onto the ground leaving him in need of multiple surgeries and lots of treatment. During this time my father tried to apply for residency but his attorney at the time told him not because of the treatment and surgeries he needed.Over the past 5 years he’s been in constant treatment such as physical therapy which hasn’t allowed him to continue his application for residency(I’ve added a picture from the date of his accident as well). In 2020 with new attorneys he tried to apply for residency again but life got in the way once more when COVID shut everything down.
I feel like many could relate to this issue. ICE detains parents and children. They seperate families, in order to make this country free from immigrants. However, this immigrant is a hardworking individual, that has done everything to give his family a better future. Those who know him, know he's does everything for his family . Unfortunately, he was arrested for being an immigrant. He is the best father anyone can ask for. He is no harm or any danger to the community. He is a very hardworking man who works his ass off for his wife, daughters and sons, as well as his granddaughters. He has a U.S. citizen daughter who will be graduating from a four year university this upcoming May and a step-daughter who graduated in May of 2022.
I am, quite frankly, in shock and completely devastated but determined to fight for my dad , and the life he has built for himself. As he would do no less for me, his kids/grandchildren or wife
