UPDATE : Nick is half way done w his 1st round of radiation- chemo is going well he is very tired. The scans and results are showing the tumor is growing. We will continue to fight !

Update. Nick was moved from ICU his head is healing great. We still do not have any answers on how many tumors they were able to get. Testing is being done and should have an answer Monday. His speech and memory are okay. Not great but it could be worse. Right now it’s about healing and resting - still a long road just taking 1 day at a time.

Surgery Day Update :

Today Nick goes in for the fight of his life. Surgery will be 6-8 hours.

His speech and use of his right side will not return.

They will do everything they can to reduce the pressure from his brain and remove as many tumors as they can. It’s all in the hands of the neurosurgeons.

The Russell Family needs your help. My son Nick was taken to the ER yesterday April 3 for a headache, 20 minutes later we are told that he has a very large brain tumor and he was flown to Banner University in Phoenix. The team of neurosurgeons will do everything they can to save Nick. As I wake up this morning I know I need help. My son is in for the fight of his life. I can’t even express how I feel as I ask for help.

Nick is comfortable - we met with his neurologist, -he is confident but due to the surgery being 6-8 hours he has a colleague that will be here Monday help him w surgery - Nicks surgery is scheduled for Tuesday- due to the complexity they need a plan and the right team- Nick will be awake they want to make sure they are not taking parts that he needs. (Dr said it better).
