Protect the forest

Creating safety at the Richard St. Barbe Baker Afforestation Area and George Genereux Urban Regional park which are semi-wilderness habitats featuring mixed wood forest, wetlands with  geological, cultural, historical and natural heritage.

When COVID-19 first touched down in Canada, the Friends of the Saskatoon Afforestation Areas Inc did its best to raise money for park protections to keep the environment safe. The public, and school programs need safety to enjoy the health, recreation and natural benefits of this greenspace.

As a non-profit charity, they rely heavily on donations and door to door bottle drives, two things that have halted since the pandemic protocols. These funds help to put into place park protections such as vehicle barriers to stop dumping, and amenities such as garbage cans and interpretive signs.

With family friendly events for every holiday and education for all about wild life, and heritage we can all agree it’s important to our city.

Want to join me in making a difference for the forest, trees, environment and ecosystem? I'm raising money to benefit THE FRIENDS OF THE SASKATOON AFFORESTATION AREAS INC., for their mission to conserve and protect George Genereux Urban Regional Park and Richard St. Barbe Baker Afforestation Area. Any donation will help make an impact.

For example; One Jersey Barrier is $600 to protect the endangered species, place based learning classrooms and  recreational users from illegal motorized vehicle traffic.

We close the fundraiser on June 30.

We'd like to thank you for supporting this amazing urban regional park and wetlands. Thanks in advance for your contribution to this cause that means so much.
