Hello! I am Bonita. The reason that I am requesting funds is to be able to pay my husband's hospital and medical bills that are mounting. My husband went to the States to spend time with his sons due to his failing health. Upon arriving in the States, he was hospitalized and diagnosed with advancing Alzheimer's and a potentially life-threatening infection in his feet. The infection in his feet is improving but continues to need specialized treatment. At this point he definitely can no longer return to home, as we are retired, in Mexico. We have been faithful over the years to pay our bills, but now our retirement funds are taken by the state. Since that diversion of S.S. funds, I barely have what I need to make it through each month on my own S.S.income, let alone pay additional medical and care facility bills. We need your help to pay these bills. After 4 months of being separated by this devastating disease, Alzheimers, I have spent all I have to make arrangements to get to the States for the holidays. I am still shy of funds to get there. There are no monies left to pay any of the bills that have incurred. If you could help us reach our goal to pay the bills, we would be extremely appreciative and grateful. The insidious disease of dementia, Alzheimer's, is one of the most difficult things I've ever encountered.Hopefully as you donate you may come to an awareness of the effects Alzheimers has on the entire family affected. And also, my mother, who passed away 6 years ago, also had Alzheimer's. It was very heartbreaking for me to watch my dad suffer as he watched her go through it. He has passed also, a year later than my mom. His only desire after she passed was to be with her. So I guess this GoFundMe is in part to spread awareness of the difficulties Alzheimer's can bring into a family.
